I had the joy of reading your beautiful article on the new Pope Leo XIV, and I felt truly compelled to reach out and express my heartfelt gratitude. Your writing, rich in insight and filled with sincere reverence, deeply moved me. Every argument you presented resonated with my own convictions, and I support your perspective wholeheartedly.

One phrase, in particular, struck me profoundly:
“After a quick minute of great anticipation, the French window finally opened. I saw the man in traditional vestments. What most impressed me was his calm and gentle demeanour, humility and unpretentiousness.”

That Pope Leo will walk forward in our beloved Pope Francis ‘ footsteps is our greatest happiness!
Remember Jesus was against the Scribes/ Pharisees with all their ‘ does and don’ts and fear of contamination ‘
Instead he opened His arms to the marginalized….the sinner, prostitute n gentiles!
Jesus is still guiding His Church! Hallelujah!

Thank you, Óscar, for the learned and thoughtful reflections. I notice that the four Cardinals you mention by name were adversarial to Pope Francis’ teachings. From what I have read, Pope LeoXIV is more aligned with his predecessor’s role and teachings of the Church in our times. I do hope that both sides come to see the light on Church’s role in World. The quote from Cardinal Muller that the “question is between orthodoxy and heresy” is more than a little disquieting, given that, reportedly, he found Pope Francis to be drifting towards the latter. I thought that the Doctrine is laid, in the final analysis, by the Pope.

Thanks Oscar for these insightful views. The Holy Father Pope Leo XIV will have to suffer much trials and opposition as He offers his life to the Triune God to salvage the Church caught up in a mighty storm. Let us continue to pray for him.
