In reply to Auspicio Frederico Miranda-Rodrigues. Our hope lies in Jesus and His assurance: “I will build My church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Mt 16: 18). But that does not mean that we can afford to remain passive. Ora et labora, pray and work, has to be our motto.

In reply to Maria Ana da Costa. Vatican II Constitutions brought about a so-called opening-up. Was it of any use complaining about the ‘smoke of Satan’ entering the Church through a crack, when in fact they’d left the door permanently open for new winds to blow into the Church? Now, we seem to be knocked off our feet…

Thank you, Oscar, for your thought-provoking reflection on Sunday’s liturgy. You might have seen a few videos making the rounds on WhatsApp, bemoaning the alarming spread of Islam in Europe and the West which were built on Christianity. Today Churches are not only being closed down but used as restaurants and museums. This is the result of the rejection of Christianity by those who want the Church to ‘move with the times’. We have no one to blame, definitely not the Muslims, but ourselves.

Jesus Christ did not create His Church to “move with the times, but rather that all of us who believe in Him,follow Him, not in any way that can be interpreted by any one, but only as He said.”Come and Follow Me” with our Triune God in our heart, I dare say.
We are bound to fail along the way, with all the corruption and filth of this world that has contaminated our lives, our families, and all around us.
But we must pick up our crosses and Follow Him.
Our Blessed Mother points us to Jesus, everytime we pray the Hail Mary, The Rosary, yet many of us get let astray.
We undoubtable are here on a mission and each of us are pilgrims along the way.
Let us follow The Light of Christ till the end, and along the way do our bit to proclaim Jesus as The Only Way. There is no other.
